MEDIA ARE INVITED ON OCTOBER 17th FOR A GUIDED TOUR OF REAPER’S MANSION HAUNTED HOUSE AT 3:00 PM AND AGAIN AT 7:00 PM TO GET THE INSIDE SCOOP OF WHAT WILL BE THE BEST HALLOWEEN SCARE-SPOT IN THE GTA. MEDIA NEEDING A TOUR AND INTERVIEWS BEFORE THE 17TH, PLEASE CONTACT BELOW.

WHITBY - The legendary Cullen Gardens in Whitby, ON recently purchased by Le Nordik Spa will be open to the public once again for this Halloween season to claim the title of the best Halloween season attraction in Durham and the GTA. Reaper’s Mansion Charity Haunted House is the scare-child of TEM HOME Music School in Whitby, ON and it is a true labour of Halloween love. The scare creators have been hosting their annual Haunted House for four years at the TEM location. For their fifth season in 2013, they were asked if they would like to hold their annual event at the historic Cullen Gardens site to bring back the Halloween tradition for the Durham Region community and tourists from all over Ontario and Canada to enjoy. So for this fifth anniversary celebration, this historic landmark will be the place to be for Halloween lovers of all ages to enjoy, at prices that cannot be beat!

Cullen Gardens, was known world-wide for its miniature village and reported over two million visitors per year. It also had a long tradition of Halloween events with a Haunted Walk, the last one taking place in 2006. During these two weeks of the Halloween season the Halloween Walk would bring over 100,000 guests from Durham, the GTA and beyond. In 2013 Reaper’s Mansion is taking the Haunted Walk to a completely different level and it will not be like the simple walkthrough attractions that dawn our Canadian Halloween entertainment industry today. Reaper's Mansion is truly revolutionary in its conception and design and it boasts a 4600+ square foot layout.

The design is truly terrifying. Reaper's will play with your perception and deceive you into fear, if you feel you can’t be scared, look out, because we will target you and we WILL get you! In doing this we promote a bonding experience between the participants as they are limited to groups of six and must figure their way out through the interactive and deadly Reaper’s Mansion. The haunted house is also arranged so that during the daytime hours, it can cater to families with young children and school trips with different levels of scare, while still boasting the biggest scares in Ontario during our night time sessions! The goal is to immerse the participants into the experience, making them feel as if they are in a movie.

ADDITIONAL REAPER'S MANSION INFORMATION

The charities this event supports are Oasis Animal Rescue and Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre and both are based in the Durham Region. The attraction is also proud to be fully wheelchair accessible.

Community Strong - The result of an attraction such as this is a strengthening force for art and culture in our communities. It provides a forum for Actors, Musicians, Artists, Comedians and Performance Artists in the community to show their stuff! It creates additional season jobs, boosts the local small business community as businesses that are supporting the event also gain a invaluable exposure to the public attending and are even able to engage the public in a way which would have been impossible in the past. It is a completely symbiotic event linked with the community at its heart. The attraction provides an opportunity for students to gain their community service hours, while working with professionals and gaining valuable life experience.

In addition to the Haunted House itself, there are many other things for guests to enjoy. The daytime younger performers are provided a forum to entertain the public, during the night time an in-house DJ provides the soundtrack for the event. Local food vendors are providing many food options. The sound and lighting show is spectacular and the scares start as soon as you park your car!

On the last three nights of the run, October 31ST ,, November 1ST and November 2ND, there will be amazing night time parties catered to the 19+ crowd featuring some of the best emerging talent Canada has to offer, along with some Celebrity Appearances! Confirmed artist line-up to be announced October 15.

The Reaper’s Mansion event has private guest rooms for people to host their own Halloween parties and other special events like birthdays, bachelor parties or even just a cool room for yourself and your friends for the concert nights!

Reaper’s Mansion Charity Haunted House is located at:
380 Taunton Rd W, Whitby, ON L1P 2A9
